Elementary Planning Time: The 2000-2001 school year contract increases elementary teacher planning time to 190 minutes per week.

Nominations: The offices of Secretary, Treasurer, High School, Middle School, Elementary Vice Presidents and building reps are open for nomination. Nominations will be closed on September 19th. The election will be held on October 10th.

Congratulations: Barb Danna of Lamphere Center retired after 27 years with Lamphere Schools. Enjoy.

Teacher Technology Initiative: The laptop computer chosen by the district is the Compaq Amada 110S. It is estimated that the computers will arrive late September.

CEC Credit: If you would like to request a printout of your CEC credits please send it to Joy Champion by September 15th.

Earned Credits: If you have earned credits or a degree that places you in a new salary track, please be sure to provide evidence of the changes to the Personnel Office by October 1st.

AFT Insurance: New AFT members are eligible for a free insurance policy for one full year. Look in the benefits book distributed to all LFT members on the first day back.

LFT Meetings: The first LFT Executive Board Meeting will be held on September 12 at the High School.

LFT Dues: Dues for the 2000-2001 school year are $453. If you would like to pay by payroll deduction please obtain a form from you building rep.

Laborfest: Join fellow union members and celebrate the Detroit 300 theme, "We built this city!" at the Labor Day Parade and Laborfest. Contact me or visit the LFT webpage (http://www.lft1614.org) for details.
